"Elections" in "DNR" and "LNR" and another humanitarian column from Russia are all aimed at strengthening the separatist enclave in Donbass turning it into a fortress – this opinion was expressed in the comment for GORDON by the Belarusian journalist Pavel Sheremet.

"The threat of war remains, it is very high and it can break out at any time. Winter will not stop anybody, at least so far. On the other hand, I am surprised why there are no statements from either NATO or Ukrainian authorities or intelligence service concerning the movement of the armed columns. Perhaps, it is part of gas-related arrangements. War can also break out because of gas because gas supply to "LNR" and "DNR" is still up in the air. It is possible that the separatist zone will expand to the borders of gas pipelines. Frankly speaking, I spread my arms when I see all this," the journalist said.

According to Sheremet, there is a global collapse in the relations between the West and Russia.
