Former Georgian President Mikhael Saakashvili believes that military provocations of Russia near the borders of other countries resemble manoeuvers before the next stage of military actions.

Former President of Georgia Mikhael Saakashvili thinks that Russia, by its aggressive actions, demonstrates its readiness to fight against those who will lay claims to the sphere of its influence. He stated it in his comment for the GORDON.

"Russia is giving a signal. On the one hand, Putin has concluded a gas agreement, implying that Europe should not be afraid if Russia attacks Ukraine. On the other hand, however, Russia says that if you poke your nose into our sphere of influence, I will crush you," Saakashvili stated.

"Today, Putin is much more dangerous than North Korea because he is really capable of resorting to nuclear weapon. More and more people in the West understand it. This person has no restraint," ex-president of Georgia believes.

According to Saakashvili, military manoeuvers of the Russian army resemble what Russia was doing before invading Georgia in 2008.

"All these submarines and planes look like manoeuvring before a new stage of military actions. At least, he was doing something similar in Georgia before 2008. He is really giving signals and watching the reaction of the West. He keeps putting the West to the test, and its inaction encourages his further actions. Will he resort to nuclear weapon or not? There appeared Western comments that they do not rule out this possibility," Saakashvili considers.
