"From the very beginning the Anti-corruption bureau was supposed to work with the old courts and under the supervision of the old presecutor's office", – the member of the anti-corruption committee Igor Lutsenko noted.

The anti-corruption bureau has some options of development. At best it can become an authority which makes some certain efforts in the right direction, at worst it will turn into the next specialized State Office of Public Prosecutor. This was stated by the Batkivshchyna fraction deputy, member of the anti-corruption committee  Igor Lutsenko in his comment to the “Gordon” .

He emphasized that he wants to be optimistic in this matter. "My optimism is that the Anti-corruption bureau can become an authority which makes some certain efforts in the right direction. But there can also be a pessimistic scenario. It will be realized if the Anti-corruption bureau turns into the next specialized State Office of Public Prosecutor .And we all know perfectly what our Prosecutor's Office is after it failed to find murderers on the Maidan and did not punish Boyko and others", the  deputy summarized.

According to him, in this case it will be another body whose job will be to infringe corrupt officials in order to wheedle money out of them.

The parliamentarian is convinced that the Anti-corruption bureau is not capable of overcoming corruption. "From the very beginning the Anti-corruption bureau was supposed to work with the old courts and under the supervision of the old presecutor's office. If we wanted to create a separate branch of power, we should have formed a new independent court and a new independent prosecutor's office", – Lutsenko noted.

The member of the anti-corruption committee reminded that the law on NSDC of Ukraine provides a controlled status for the Anti-corruption bureau. "There are some really serious limiters in the work of such a bureau", – Lutsenko told.

NSDC is formed by representatives of the two biggest parliamentary pro-government fractions: Petro Poroshenko, who is politically tied to his fraction, and the secretary of NSDC Olexandr Turchynov, who, in his turn, will control the Anti-corruption bureau.
