Agrobusinessman Serhiy Tarasov has been put on the international wanted list on suspicion of land appropriation
The richest person in Kirovohrad region and owner of the agroholding I&U Group, Serhiy Tarasov, has been put on the international wanted list, according to UNN.
Tarasov is suspected of organizing a scheme to remove land from state ownership through the Main Directorate of the State Geocadastre in the Kirovohrad region. According to the National Police, in addition to him, suspicion has been reported to eight more people, including officials from enterprises under his control, one of the heads of the State Geocadastre in the Kirovohrad region, private notaries, and intermediaries.
These individuals are charged under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, "Misappropriation of property or seizure of it through abuse of office," and Part 3 of Article 209, "Legalization (laundering) of property obtained through criminal means".
The investigation has been completed, and the defense is currently reviewing the case materials, after which the case will go to court, according to the publication citing the National Police.
At the moment, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv is considering the issue of choosing a preventive measure for Tarasov in the form of detention. After that, it will be possible to put him on the Interpol wanted list.
