Argentem Creek Partners seeks to gain control of the Odessa terminal in favor of a Russian businessman – media
Andrii Naumenko has been appointed as the new head of the Odesa port terminal "Olimpex Coupe International", who has close ties to Jhashi Vaja Enrikovich, a businessman with Russian citizenship. This was reported on April 29 by "Fakty" concerning sources in the Office of the Prosecutor General.
The conflict over the management of the Odesa port terminal has been ongoing for several years, the publication notes. For the past two years, the Ukrainian agro-holding GNT Group has been in legal disputes with American creditors Argentem Creek Partners and Innovatus. Creditors allege that the Ukrainian company is not fulfilling its obligations, while GNT Group claims that US funds are attempting to seize their assets with the help of an unknown third party.
Following the decision of the Western Appellate Commercial Court, published in the Unified Register of Court Decisions on April 22, regarding the change of management of "Olimpex Coupe International" at the request of creditors Argentem Creek Partners and Innovatus, businessman Andrii Naumenko announced that he has been authorized to manage the assets of the Argentem Creek Partners fund.
On April 26, Andrii Naumenko attempted to block the terminal's operations with the support of unidentified individuals, using his position, according to "Fakty". Andrii Naumenko is the director of the company "Grain Invest Ukraine", the ultimate beneficiary of which is Russian citizen Jhashi Vaja Enrikovich, the publication notes.
According to sources in the Office of the Prosecutor General, Jhashi Vaja is suspected of activities detrimental to Ukraine's national interests. According to the same insider, within the framework of criminal case No. 22 023 000 000 000 304 dated March 31, 2023, the Russian businessman is suspected of committing crimes against Ukraine during the war with Russia, including financing actions aimed at violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power.
