Political scientist Paly: UN now is a platform for discussions, and nothing more G

The UN is a platform for discussions and clarification of general issues and nothing more, thinks Ukrainian political analyst Alexander Paliy. He said this in his comment for the GORDON.

"In case one of the permanent members of the Security Council turns out an aggressor, the UN becomes paralyzed. It is badly paralyzed as it is, and when the aggressor is one of the Security Council members, it is not capable of anything at all. It is a platform for discussions and clarification of general issues and nothing more. The function of the UN is becoming PR. Everybody sees that Russia is isolated, everybody sees that it is lying, but it continues doing it, and the UN cannot do anything here. State unions like the NATO and the European Union are more effective in this case. The NATO has considerable potential in the military and political domain, and the European Union in the economic one", – Alexander Paliy considers.
