The ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili considers that the current political situation requires unconventional approaches and decisions.

According to the former president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, there are many people in the world who are interested in Ukraine’s becoming a strong and successful country. He declared it in the comment to the GORDON edition.

"Certainly, it is up to the Ukrainian government and the Ukrainian people to decide, but the point is that success of Ukraine is the matter of survival of all former Soviet countries and the whole Europe. The destiny of Europe and Ukraine is decided now, so there are many foreigners concerned who are ready to give their lives for Ukraine and its success. We have to remember it," Saakashvili declared.

"At some point, we attracted many foreigners to the Georgian government who really worked very much and were very influential. It was great help for me because we had to do absolutely unusual and extraordinary things. The time is unusual now, there are big challenges so we need unconventional approaches. It is impossible to resolve such enormous tasks using old approaches," the ex-president of Georgia noted.

According to Saakashvili, several former Georgian officials already work as consultants in the Ukrainian government.

"I cannot confirm anything about concrete candidates, but the only thing I can state is that Kakha Bendukidze was offered to hold a post in the Ukrainian government before his death, and he was already going to Kiev, but the sudden death, unfortunately, broke these plans. The second thing I can confirm is that there is a big group of our advisers in Ukrainian ministries and authorities. These are former members of my government, former deputies of the parliament and former representatives of the executive power, but also acting members of the parliament who were engaged in specific programs. They have already developed pilot programs on reduction of bureaucracy and on electronic tenders; they participated in drafting programs in different fields. Such cooperation has existed for several months and gives good experience," Saakashvili noted.
