On December 2 Tymofiy Mylovanov, Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, while on the air in “Freedom of speech” program on ICTV refuted an announcement made by Minister of Energy Oleksiy Orzhel about changes in NAK Naftogaz of Ukraine’s management.
Mylovanov pointed out that there was “certain falsehood” in Orzhel’s words or there was misunderstanding. He underlined that the government was not going to change neither Naftogaz management nor supervisory board members any time soon.
“Specifically, about Naftogaz – there are no changes. And they are not coming. It was either incorrectly understood or misquoted. There is no process under way in Naftogaz. Not in supervisory board, not in management”, – said Mylovanov.
Andriy Kobolyev is CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine since March 2014. On March 20, 2018, his contract was prolonged until March 22, 2020. After Orzhel’s statement he said that he saw no reason to react to announcements of Naftogaz CEO vacancy contest.
On December 2 Oleksiy Orzhel, Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection, announced that the government had plans to change top managers and to launch position contests in all strategic companies including NAK Naftogaz of Ukraine and Ukrenergo.
Yuriy Vitrenko, Executive Director of Naftogaz, said that he had no objections against professionally arranged and politically unbiased contest but it was not likely that it could be held before the end of this year.
